Baskets -- picnic baskets, wire baskets, oak splint baskets, apple baskets, potatoe baskets -- we love baskets because they are so useful, so easy to repurpose and do what they were designed to do for a really long time -- contain things.
The larger of the two picnic baskets shown is relatively common in size and color.
The smaller of the two is a very unusual basket. From the 1940s-1950s it's child's size. Inside, the loops that hold silverware are scaled to match the diminutive size of the original silverware. |
