Suspect a Crack in Piece of Vintage Pottery?

Wear a ring when you go shopping for old pottery, it will come in mighty handy to quicklAntique show, Tri-Cities Washington, Pasco Washingtony learn whether the piece of Weller, Bauer or Roseville has a real crack or just a crack in the glaze.

If the pottery is cracked when you tap your ring on the edge the sound will be dull, hollow.  If it isn't cracked the sound will be crisp, clear and have a nice "ring tone."
